What Is Acne Rosacea?

Acne rosacea is a skin disorder which is common and has affected many people all around the world. Development of small red bumps on the skin, sensation of inflammation of cheeks, mouth, nose and forehead, appearance of red cysts are some of the symptoms of acne rosacea. Acne rosacea may also affect areas around eyes thereby causing conjunctivitis. Rosacea persists for longer duration of time and it is a non curable disorder of the skin where people may experience few certain difficulties periodically. Acne rosacea is visible in people who are fair and has light colored skin and mainly in people belonging to Scottish or Irish family. This redness on the skin may lead to the enlargement of the blood vessels of the skin which appears like small and thin red lines.

This continuous flushing may damage the skin tissues followed by swelling of the skin around nose. People belonging to age group of 30-50 and teenagers are likely to develop acne rosacea. Studies have shown that 1 in 20 people suffer from acne rosacea but are unaware of it. Acne rosacea can be cured by medications such as oral and topical anti biotic to improve the condition of acne rosacea.

Intake of medicines such as hypertension medicines, corticosteroids are also responsible for the appearance of acne rosacea. People belonging to the age group of 30-50, people with fair and light skin mainly the Scottish and Irish, woman undergoing menopause are likely to develop acne rosacea on the facial skin, so likelihood is also the culprit for causing acne rosacea. Other factors such as rigorous and harsh exercise, emotional factors such as anxiety, stress, anger, hot baths and showers, saunas are also responsible for the development of acne rosacea.

The root cause of acne rosacea is still not known and it is a mystery. It is a chronic skin disorder which normally affects the central portion of the facial skin such as nose, eyes, arms and neck.

Acne rosacea is a common skin disorder and can appear on the facial skin, neck and arms. The symptoms of acne rosacea differ from one person to another person and mostly in all cases people will experience only few symptoms instead of all.

The severity of acne rosacea can be reduced by controlling the triggers that lead to this condition. It has been reported that sunlight is the major culprit of acne rosacea, so prolonged exposure to sunlight should be avoided as it can damage your skin tissues.
