Can Laser resurfacing be used to treat Acne Scars?

Laser resurfacing is a popular method of resurfacing skin (wounding), which removes the sun damaged or aged skin and allow younger skin to grow in its place. It can be used for the treatment of minor facial flaws. It has been used to lessen the appearance line around mouth, cheeks and eyes. For yellowish and grayish tones, it can help to improve the completion. It does not have any limitation, though it has been used effectively to cure minor facial flaws.

There are two types lasers used for laser resurfacing. Each work by superficial vaporization and limits the heat absorption by skin, reducing the risk to acne.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Different types of skin conditions are treated using this which includes scars, winkles, birthmarks, warts, skin cancer, enlarged oil glands on nose and other conditions. The recent lasers use in this type can produce very thin light ray, removing this layer of skin precisely.

Erbium Laser Resurfacing

This laser is use to remove superficial and comparatively wrinkles and deep lines on the hands, neck, chest or face. It produces very little heat. Is also has very limited side effects, such as bruising, redness and swelling. So the recovery time is very fast and takes place within one week, unlike CO2 Laser Resurfacing.
