What Causes Some People to get Acne?

Acne occurs in some people due to an over production of oil in the sebaceous glands and this clogs pores far below the skin, which when mixed with hair follicles becomes infected. This is present on the skin of most people between the ages of 11 year old and 30 years of age and is what causes acne outbreaks.

There is an estimated 80 percent of people between these ages that are affected with acne, there are a portion that have what is considered severe acne. This is acne that is not merely outbreaks of pimples, but continuous infected pores that include pimples on the face, back, neck and shoulders.

There are myths about pimples, which includes not eating certain foods because they are oily, this is just a myth and has nothing to do with the over production of oil in the sebaceous glands and infections in the sebaceous hair follicles.
