Acne and Medicated Make Up

Medicated makeup is a type of cosmetic makeup with the addition of few chemicals namely salicylic acid which is very effective in treating acne. Medicated makeup is very effective in eliminating moderate acne which can be in the form of whiteheads or blackheads. Salicylic acid is the major component in medicated makeup which helps in treating acne and acts as anti-acne ingredient which helps in treating the skin thereby opening the clogged pores of the skin. It pays an important role in regulating large amount of sebum which moves on the surface of the skin thereby eliminating the dead cells from the skin surface. Because of this medicinal property, medicated makeup can be used in controlling the eruption of acne.

If a person suffering from severe acne such as cystic or nodular acne uses medicated makeup then it can aggravate the acne condition thereby making it worse. If the evolution of acne is followed by feeling of inflammation then such types of makeup should not be used. If medicated makeup proves to be beneficial in healing of acne, one can continue to use it but one thing should be kept in mind that you don’t overuse it. Stop using this makeup if you experience symptoms like irritation of skin, itching and dryness.
